Accessibility statement
For Ishara Kids, accessibility isn’t an extra. It is what we do.
Our standard
We build and test this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we test it with Deaf reviewers and on low-cost phones.
What we have done
- Indian Sign Language: key pages carry an ISL video, signed by our co-founder Alok Ranjan.
- Captions and transcripts: every video has captions in English and Hindi that you can switch on and off, and the full text is below each video.
- Nothing depends on sound: there is no audio-only content, and you can always reach us by text.
- Visual-first pages: icons, diagrams and short sections, in plain language.
- Light pages: videos load only when you tap them, so pages work on slower connections.
- Keyboard and screen readers: clear headings, visible focus, labelled forms and described images.
- Motion: we respect your device’s reduced-motion setting, and nothing flashes.
What we are still working on
- Our ISL videos are being recorded. Until they are ready, the transcript under each video shows everything it will say.
- Our Hindi pages are being written by a native Hindi writer.
- Our downloadable resources are being prepared, and each will be accessible.
