Safeguarding
Every child at Ishara Kids has the right to be safe. This is how we keep that promise.
Our Lead Safeguarding Officer
Neha Kumari, co-founder, is our Lead Safeguarding Officer. Any parent, carer or member of staff can contact her with a concern about a child’s safety on WhatsApp at +91 93193 01182 or by email at info@vigyanmay.in.
Everyone is checked before they start
Everyone who works with children at Ishara Kids goes through background checks, criminal record screening and verification of their professional credentials. Our directors supervise all teaching and therapy.
Reporting concerns
We follow the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Any concern about abuse is reported to the authorities as the law requires, within 24 hours.
Photos and video
- We publish a photo of a child only with written consent from their parent or guardian, given specifically for publication.
- We use a mix of joyful photos, wide shots, hands and illustrations, and never name a child in a caption.
- Videos of sessions are used only for parent training inside the secure Ishara Kids app, and never on public pages without specific consent.
- If you ask us to remove a photo or video, we remove it from our website and our own channels within 24 hours. We cannot always recall copies that others have already shared.
Volunteers and visitors
Volunteers and visitors are never alone with a child, always sign in and out, and do not take photographs or videos of children.
